Tutorial: Three Looks One Palette

Today I thought I’d show you how to wear some color with this beautiful palette I bought from Lisa Says Gah. It is a collabrative palette from Make Cosmetics x Maryam Nassir Zadeh.

I’ve been fan of both brands for some time now. I think Make makes wonderfully interesting products that are unique, easy to use and add a bit of life to the cosmetic world. Maryam Nassir Zadeh makes the most beautiful chic shoes that Zara budget wont allow me to have. So, the palette will do in the mean time.

Currently Obsessed: Penn + Olive

If you know me than you know the way I love my sister. She is the best person ever. She is strong, confident and damn she is smart. She for most her adult years has been a passionate seeker of health the holistic, natural way. She’s tried it all, even gave up washing her hair six months in an effort to see if her hair would balance it’s natural oils and end up with shiny healthy hair, that other naturalist claim happen. She ended up washing her hair but her love for natural remedies in beauty and self-care have continued.

Beauty Edit: The New Year (Part Two)

Another year has past. We made it. Congrats everyone. I know it's felt like a feat of will to have lasted the year that was 2016. I don’t know about all of you but the climate of words, the mood of the year felt like dread with a whole lot of gratitude for it’s end.

Currently Obsessed: Holiday Beauty

On this currently obsessed holiday edition I wanted to not only bring the current beauty products I am obsessed with but also, an easy to do holiday beauty look.

A holiday beauty look for me is going to be little bolder and yet keeping in my preferred style, simple. I like to add a bit more color and bit more sparkle. For this look I decided to do that through highly pigmented gold shadow, glowy skin and a stained red lip.

Beauty Edit: Fall/Holiday (Part One)

Beauty looks for me, should all possess a sense of playfulness, simplicity and fun. I advocate looking like you always but don't be afraid of working with a trend to fit your personality. Don't be afraid to break your routine and try something new.

Alive in New Mexico

I took a trip at the end of September/beginning of October to New Mexico with my sister. Road tripping out to the southwest is something I have wanted to do for a while. For over a year it has been steadily streaming through my brain, “get to New Mexico”. I don’t know where this started or why but the seed was implanted. That seed had another little seed inside it and it said “get to New Mexico and see Georgia O’Keeffe’s home and studio in Abiquiu.”

Beauty Moment: Lena

Today Lena shares her love of yoga...

After I quit dancing (ballet), I kind of had nothing. I didn’t know what direction I wanted to go. I didn’t go to college. I just got into yoga because I was so familiar with body movement...

Currently Obsessed: Facial Oils

I am currently obsessed with FACIAL OILS. Actually I’ve been obsessed for some time now, but over the holidays I got these babies from Herbivore Botanicals and have fallen more in love.

If you are like me and you’ve struggled with acne, you probably had or have a strong aversion to oil-anything being put on your face. I lived an “oil free” product life throughout my 20s...

Edit: Mother Nurture

Oretga

In the time since the new year began I made a conscious choice not to give myself any resolutions (over it/eye roll).  I didn’t want to wrap myself in unrealistic expectations or just start another new year with ways I can change or do things. It’s a recipe for "not good enough." This year I decided everything is enough as is. I really tried to start the year off listening to what I truly needed. What I needed was to start the year off with what is...me, myself, and I exactly as I am right now.
