I love when a runway beauty look translates to real life or sort of real life. Leelee Sobieski's take on this slicked back wet hair, red lip à la Barbara Bui Spring/Summer 2013 show has me way too happy. It's like a sexy take on an 80s vibe. I am into it. I also, firmly believe that wearing a red lip changes lives.

Rooney Mara is doing a great job. Not only as an actress but as an actress who has to get dressed for premieres, award shows and all that other fancy stuff. She's really become someone I can't wait to see what she's got going on. The above images are from her Berlin photocall for her movie "Side Effects" in which she's wearing Baleciaga Resort 2013. I am not usually a fan when people wear head to toe runway looks because it looks like the clothes wear them instead of vice versa. Rooney does not possess this here, the look only adds to the edge that she already has. Her hair and makeup compliment the look perfectly which to me should always be the goal. I love how clean everything is from her hair to her lack of jewelry except for the Balenciaga gold rings. She looks on trend but unique to herself which makes it all work in her favor.

I really do just want to do this trend. I resisted for a little but all I want to do now is wear leather pants and Nikes. Let's be honest too, if Phoebe Philo is doing it, we all should be doing it. Sneakers in general are coming back into high fashion but I think Nike is doing a great job of getting into this trend for all it's worth. Their online store offers a wide variety of selections including customization (yes, please!). I have a pair of Nike Dunk's that I bought almost 10 years ago and I just never had the courage to get rid of....and I never will.

Kate Moss and Erin Wasson are without a doubt two of the most inspiring models. They are of course, great at their careers but also have amazing personal style. These are facts! I've been really loving all their recent work (see above). What I find most inspiring about the both of them is that they seem to really understand who they are and they do not compromise it. To me that is where real beauty exist and what makes their sense of style so enviable.

I am HUGE Beyonce and Jay-z fan. They are in the "they can do no wrong" category for me. They always look so strong and powerful together. I don't mean just their public personas but in who they are, you can tell in their love and life together. The above image encapsulates everything I love about them. Beyonce's wrapped braids and ruby lip. Jay-z holding his cigar and mirrored sunglasses. They're just cruising Old Havana, being them. Happy Anniversary to the Carter's!

Karolina Kurkova is stunning in the March issue of Elle Czech. We all know by now that she is in fact very stunning but this editorial is absolutely flawless to me. I adore the hair style in that no part volume and then later with the added braid. Both styles give the right simplicity to bold clothes and lip. The metallic taupe wash of shadow around her eyes which is so simple but it makes her skin glow and allows the lip to make the statement it needs. Once she's in the her suits, that strong all lid cat eye with a pale, pale nude lip exudes such power and femininity against the New York back drop. Simply flawless.
This is what spring should look like, this of course is only according to me. It epitomizes how I want to feel leaving winter and heading into summer. I live in California though, so I basically always feel like I am in Spring. ha! The left Stella McCartney and right Celine looks both scream "the sun is out!" which makes me so happy. I love the tonal look of both, the slouchy long sleeves and the wide leg trousers. Both looks are casual yet tailored which to me is everything I could ever want. I love the hair in what I like to call "done down", where your hair looks like it just naturally falls that way but you actually spent some time on. The side part and the minimal makeup are the perfect accessory to the bold color of the yellow and the embroidered pants. The middle part with the berry lip adds such a great pop in contrast to the all white and orange. Both looks are effortless, crisp, casual and so very cool.
Lea Seydoux is French, cool and she doesn't care. Well, I don't know if she really doesn't care but I assume this. She has that very french thing happening where she just naturally oozes cool confidence. Each editorial shows this perfectly. I find them a great way to begin Spring. I adore her hair cut and the simple beauty looks. I am always a big fan of a bare eye, great skin and the pop of a bold red lip.

I have to admit that I have been a bit absent from my usual fashion week stalking of all the latest Autumn/Winter 2013 shows. I am slowly starting to make my way through New York, London, Milan and PARIS! I find myself these days when the season starts only checking for my usual favs and waiting to be inspired. The one who never disappoints me, the one who gives me goosebumps, I wait on pins and needles is GIVENCHY. Ricardo Tisci just gets it . His collections look feminine, tough, intricate and interesting. Givenchy's A/W 2013 show was all that and more. I adored the printed bambi sweaters, the florals, the leather, the boots but what I could not get over was the HAIR. The colorful rose bud looking, 1950s swim cap hair was just, well inspiring.
